Currently airing on E4, the twelfth series of Made in Chelsea began on 10 October 2016, a month after the conclusion of Made in Chelsea: South of France. The series will ultimately contain eleven episodes, leading through into at least December.
The run-up to the series saw the revelation that several major cast members would not be returning, most notably Lucy Watson, who had been absent from the summer spin-off too. To counter the losses, there was the announcement of several new cast members and the return of popular former alumni – with the twelfth series being something of a reinvention by blending old and new. Fans were greeted by news that Francis Boulle, Oliver Proudlock and Fredrik Ferrier were returning full time, while new addition Akin Solanke-Caulter made headlines for being the first non-white major cast member.
So far, the series has billed itself as focusing on the attempts by Josh “JP” Patterson to salvage his former relationship with Alexandra “Binky” Felstead, as well as the fallout from South of France, as Jamie Laing and Alex Mytton try to rekindle their friendship, and the girls remaining divided between Georgia “Toff” Toffolo and Olivia Bentley after their love triangle with Francis. On a lighter note, the reuniting of Francis, Jamie and Proudlock as ‘the Lost Bois’ for the first time since the sixth series was promoted online.
